Can Water Get Inside Vent on Furrion Tankless Water Heater
Question:
Furrion tankless water heater question, toward the end of last season my water heater stopped working, furrion said a possible issue was from wind driven rain getting in to the vent. Has anyone else experienced this, if so is there some type of additional cover vent that I can put over the heater cover so this doesn’t happen, when I asked about the water heater that they designed for an RV but it is not weather stable. They had no real answer… So I’m wondering if I put some type of a vented cover mounted to the side wall over the water heater, would I cause over heating issues? I live my grand design reflection 312BHTS but the water heater is just a poor design by furrion…. Any help would be much appreciated….

I do have an option for you but I cant recommend covering any vents nor do we have any covers for this. Instead, the only option we have would be a different unit like the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater part # LSB64FR for white or part # LSB44FR for black. In regards to the exterior vent, all water heaters have them and none are covered so I'm not sure that is your solution/problem. It's not uncommon for water heaters to go bad but if you want to know why exactly then take it into a repair center for service. It may be covered under warranty.

Happened to me too. Furrion said rain blowing in is a problem—apparently older models had a different vent design. Getting a replacement next week. Sounds like a known design flaw.
