Wiring Two 6v Batteries With One 12v Battery Together In RV

Question:

I just read on etrailer.com that you can run 2-6v and 1-12v batteries together. I have also read that is not recommended to do this on another web site. As I have limited room I would like to run the 2-6v and 1-12v batterie combo. Can you tell me if there are any things I should do special and can you show a drawing with the three units hooked to gather? Also is this something people do a lot? Regards

The setup will be a combination of batteries connected in series and then the bank of two connected in parallel. The two 6v batteries would need to be connected in series, positive to negative. The next step would be to wire these two batteries in parallel with the 12V battery. You would connect the free positive terminal from the 6v setup to the 12V positive terminal and the free negative terminal from as well. If there is room, most of our customers will wire 3 12V batteries in parallel to increase the amount of energy the battery bank can store.

I have included a diagram below that shows this setup.
