Best Trailer Tires To Replace Old 7.35-15 Tires On A Vintage Camper
Question:
I am looking to purchase a vintage camper. It has older 7.35/6.85-15 tires on it now. This is our first camper and wanted to see if the bolt pattern on the older rims will match with newer replacement rims. I have attached a few pics. Also what tires would replace these old 7.35 tires? Thank you.

From looking at the pictures you provided, it does look like you have the very common 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern on your wheels, but as with any vintage trailer, I highly recommend double checking this to make sure. I included an article about this as it comes up pretty often, but all you need to do is measure from the center of one bolt to the center of one right next to it. If you get 2-5/8", then you definitely have the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you do not, check the article and it will tell you which you have.
The 7.35-15 tire can be a few different sizes (older tires can be difficult to identify due to sizing/ identifying methods no longer used), but a ST205/75R15 will get pretty close to the exact size. The Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D item # LHWL300 will be the best tire we have in this size and comes highly recommended. Replacing the wheel will depend on if you prefer to stay with the vintage look or not. If you do prefer the vintage look, I recommend the Dexstar Conventional Steel # AM20504 and Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap # AM90086. If you aren't too worried about that though, I really like the black mod design of the # AM20440. There is no baby moon style cap that will fit this, but the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Center Cap # LHCS102-SI60C will be a nice accent piece to go with it.
