Troubleshooting Wobble Roller Rollers Not Rolling
Question:
My father has a 2016 Shore Lander boat trailer for his 2016 16’ aluminum fishing boat. The issue is the rollers that came on the trailer are sticky and barely roll. This creates a problem for my aging Dad to get the boat on and off the trailer. My thought was to replace the rollers with something that rolls better. The problem is I don’t know which rollers roll better. I am hoping your team can help me figure out a way to get his boat rolling again!

In order to get your wobble rollers rolling again I have two recommendations. The first is to attempt to pull them off and clean them, then use grease to free up the movement. Another possibility is that the shaft is bent. You should be able to bend it back if you find this to be true. If this does not solve the problem you will want to replace them.
In order to find a replacement roller you will need to know the diameter of the shaft to make sure it fits. I would also recommend measuring the wobble roller you have now to find a similar size. The CE Smith Ribbed Wobble Rollers # CE29210 fits a 3/4" and 1-1/8" roller shaft. The roller has a 5" diameter and is 3" wide. The ribbed design provides additional traction which is great for slick or slimy hulls.
What you have now looks a lot like the Yates Wobble Roller # YR440R which fits a 3/4" shaft and has a 4-1/4" diameter and is 4-1/4" wide.
I have attached a link for all of our available wobble rollers that you can filter down by shaft diameter and size.
