Today we're going to review YR440R. This is a Yates Wobble Roller. This is a 4-1/4 inch wide wobble roller. It will replace one of your worn out wobble rollers on your boat trailers roller bunk. This is constructed of a heavy-duty rubber. This is made in the USA.

We'll do a few measurements on it. The width of it is 4-1/4 inches and the diameter is 4-1/4 also. This roller is designed to be used on a roller bunk with a 3/4 inch diameter shaft. And that should do it for YR440R.

I made an inquiry to etrailer about the correct rollers for my trailer. I got a thorough explanation from Hafsah and that's the reason I placed my order with etrailer. Just got them installed today. Had to launch my boat and keep it tied up in a State launch site/slip while I worked on the trailer. Everything went smoothly and got the boat back on the trailer much easier than with to old, worn out, cracked and two split rollers. I am restoring a 1993 VM trailer that came with a Sanger DXII I recently purchased. I needed to replace the trailer rollers, and found your site had the same exact part that was used by VM originally. I order them and they were delivered in one day.

these are going on a boat trailer of 4000 lbs,hopefully they will last as long as my others of the same roller,i got the yates washers along with them....the install was very easy,i also used s.s. cotters pins,great shipping also....thanks for all the help.....now i need (30) more

While I have not mounted these yet, I find them to be durable, of very quality. I was pretty much guessing about the size when I ordered them but they are appear to be spot on. The entire transaction, and pricing was great. I just bought set of lights too since this order went so well.

The rollers are exactly what I needed. I have an older trailer and these are hard to find.They are are of excellent quality. The only down side to my order was the clips I ordered. They are very difficult to install. I do not know if there is a special tool needed.

Recommended Replacement Boat Trailer Roller with Wobble Function
The Yates Ribbed Wobble Roller # YR500YW-6P has a bushings that measures 3/4" inner diameter the whole way through so it will reflect the angle of the shaft you're needing to install it on, so it will work great for your application as long as the rollers are at the correct angle for your boat. Troubleshooting Wobble Roller Rollers Not Rolling
In order to get your wobble rollers rolling again I have two recommendations. The first is to attempt to pull them off and clean them, then use grease to free up the movement. Another possibility is that the shaft is bent. You should be able to bend it back if you find this to be true. If this does not solve the problem you will want to replace them. The Yates Wobble Roller # YR440R are black molded rubber with a chemically bonded zinc-chromate washer rather than a bushing. This allows the roller to pivot as well as roll. If you prefer to not have the excess movement you should consider replacing all your rollers with the Yates # YR500YW-6P

Difference Between Rocker-Rollers and Wobble Rollers for Boat Trailer
At one time, wobble roller was a patented term, but now the term wobble roller and rocker-roller are interchangeable. The # DL21564 roller you mentioned has an integrated bushing that makes the roller track straight on the shaft it's installed on, while the other two rollers lack this bushing. Not only would these rollers be capable of rotating on the shaft, they'd also wobble as well. The key would be to determine which style your boat trailer uses and use the appropriate replacement.

What Holds Wobble Rollers onto a Trailer
The Yates Wobble Roller # YR440R that you referenced should work well for you since it has the same 3/4 inch shaft as your trailer. Wobble rollers are held on with retainer rings like the CE Smith Wobble Roller Retainer Ring # CE10981. Basically, you put the open end of the retainer ring around the shaft on each end of the roller then use some pliers to clamp it closed so it is tight to the shaft. The Yates Wobble Roller # YR440R will leave black marks but you can use the yellow version # YR500YW-6P instead to avoid marking up your boat. I confirmed this with my contact at Yates. This has a slightly larger diameter at 5" as opposed to the 4-1/4" but it will work just the same.

Washer and Pin to Use with the CE Smith Wobble Roller YR440R
For washers to go with the part # YR440R we have the part # CE10983. Wobble rollers are held on with retainer rings like the CE Smith Wobble Roller Retainer Ring # CE10981. This gets clamped so that the holes on your shaft get pinned by the ring.

I went out to the warehouse and measured Yates wobble roller # YR530R-6P. The width of the center is 1-5/8 inches so it will be too large. Your best option is going to be roller # YR440R which is much narrower but the overall width is 4-1/4 inches. The diameter is also 4-1/4 inches. I have linked a video review for you.

Can a Ribbed Wobble Roller be Used in Place of a Regular Wobble Roller on a Boat Trailer
The Yates Ribbed Wobble Roller, # YR343R-6P, is 3 inches wide when compared to # YR440R which is 4-1/4 inches wide. If the 3 inch width will still work for your application then you can use it in place of the # YR440R roller.
