Can 2021 Ford Ranger Tow Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104s Camper that Weighs 4,900 lbs
Question:
I have 2021 Ford Ranger that has the tow package 7500 lbs max tow and 750 lbs max tongue weight. I am considering purchase of a Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104s dry weight 4,900 lbs hitch/tongue weight: 680 lbs empty propane no battery 680 is Manufacturer’s spec. If I proceed, I will install Curt Mtg. ‘tru-track’ E4 WD/anti-sway hitch. I am concerned about demands on the Ranger, regarding two capacity and tongue weight capacity, including demands on truck, gas mileage, etc. I have heard: “I’ll be OK’ and have heard “you’re asking for trouble”. Will be driving in mountains. I welcome and appreciate your feedback/expertise. Thank you.

As long as you are staying under the vehicle's rated towing capacity you are totally safe. The vehicle manufacturers rate their capacities if anything very conservatively as they don't want to put their customer and other motorists in danger and they also don't want to have to warranty work. Using a weight distribution system like you mentioned would be smart and would be the way to go.
Based on what you mentioned the Curt TruTrack part number to use would be the part # C17500 which has a tongue weight range of 800-1,000 lbs.
