Though upgrading leaf springs to a higher capacity will help with bottoming out or other similar issues, it will not increase the overall payload of the trailer. This is due to several things, but mostly how sturdy the frame was designed. Higher capacity trailers will typically be built more robust than their lower capacity counterparts.

With that being said, if your current leaf springs are no longer handling your loads, I do recommend replacing them. The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring - 25-1/8" Long # e54SR will have a 3,500 capacity and should handle the weight of your fully loaded trailer quite well. If you prefer something a little more heavy duty, the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring - 25-1/4" Long # e57SR will have a 4,000 pound capacity and may be better suited for your needs.
