Question:
Hi - not sure if this is the right place to ask this question... if not, can you please redirect me to the appropriate place. I tried calling etrailer.com but gave up after firstly not finding an option for technical questions and then being on hold for over 1/2 hour after section option 1 on your IVR Place an order. We bought a used 2016 Coachmen Clipper BH17 a couple of years ago and have been travelling down the east coast to Florida. On the way we had a tire blow out and the when we had the tire replaced, we were advised that we were probably overweight. We have been staying with my cousin in Florida and he has confirmed that there is certainly a weight issue. He stated that the springs have lost their normal curve and there is evidence of bottoming out underneath. He measured the span and advised they are 26.5 inches. He suggested I contact you for possible options to replace the springs with something more robust in addition to us reviewing what we are carrying onboard, including additional leafs or other enhanced systems. We’ve commenced the latter and are hopeful you might have some advice on replacement springs more robust than what was supplied at manufacture. Thanks

It looks like the springs that you have are the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # SP-210275. These springs do not have a lot of curve built into them at 2-3/4" when relaxed from eylet to top of spring pack.
There are some 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e48SR that would give you a higher curve at 4-1/4" from eyelet to top of spring pack. Please note that the axle on your camper is rated for 3500lbs so the higher capacity springs will not increase your overall capacity of the trailer.
For a suspension enhancement the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 would be the kit that would help to reduce the bouncing that the trailer will endure. This system will not increase your carrying capacity either just provides a better ride.
