Question:
I bought the Curt Echo and managed to get it paired and working, although it took some fumbling to pair at first. Later I had to re-pair it and that was a challenge too. I also faced the fast blinking LED running lights on my trailer but it seems to behave if I set the car lights to oninch vs auto. If I recall correctly its also necessary to plug everything in with the car off and only then start the car. So Im a little uneasy trusting the Cayenne-Echo combination. Beyond the functional questions, the photo on Curts webpage shows a different mounting bracket than the one on yours photos attached. So my questions are 1 would the adapter help the Echo to perform more consistently with the Cayenne 2 do you sell the version on Curts site, with more mounting options?

Expert Reply:
The Curt 7-Way Trailer Adapter for Towing Trailers with LED Lights # C57003 you referenced does have the same mounting attachment options as the 57003 shown on Curt's website, and will be be the correct component you need to fix the hyper flashing issue you are having when plugging in your trailer to your 2017 Porsche Cayenne as long as your trailer has LED lights. The # C57003 has built in resistors which needed for quite a few newer vehicles to recognize that a trailer with LED lights is connected due to their low amp draw.
You can plug the Curt Echo # C51180 and your trailer connector in with the vehicle already turned on and do not have to do it all before turning the car on.
I recommend double checking that the 7-way connector on your Cayenne and the connectors of the Echo are clean with no corrosion or debris that could be causing a connection issue, and make sure you are using the included safety strap to keep the Echo secure.
I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
