How do I know if my 2012 Honda Pilot touring edition is the 4500lbs towing capacity? Are these all 4500?

The breakdown on the Honda Pilot towing capacity for 2012 models is pretty straightforward:

• 2WD models with no more than 2 occupants towing capacity is 2000 lbs
• 2WD models with a transmission cooler and no more than 2 occupants towing capacity is 3500 lbs, and
the figure drops with each additional occupant
• 4WD models with no more than 2 occupants have a 4500 lb towing capacity, which drops with each
additional occupant

So, long story short the capacity will depend on whether you have a 2WD or 4WD and the number of occupants. If you have a 2WD model without a transmission cooler, you can add one to increase the towing capacity from 2000 lbs to 3500 lbs for two occupants. For a cooler, I'd recommend the Derale # D13502, assuming you have 11 x 7 inches of available space on the front face of the radiator directly behind the grille.
