Would like to buy base plates and tow bar for a 2012 f150. Blue Ox. Would like to make sure I am buying the right one.

It's a good idea to check to ensure you get the right fit, and I can confirm for you the correct Blue Ox base plate and Blue Ox tow bar fit for your 2012 Ford F-150. The exact parts you need are going to depend on the model of your F-150 and if you have the EcoBoost engine or not.
- With EcoBoost Engine - FX2, FX4, Lariat, Platinum, XL, XLT: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BO74FR
- Without EcoBoost Engine - Harley-Davidson, STX, XL, XLT: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2606
- With or Without EcoBoost Engine - King Ranch: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2630
- Tow Bar: Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar # BX7380
The Alpha 2 tow bar is compatible with each of the Blue Ox base plates mentioned, and even comes with safety cables so you don't have to purchase those separately. Along with base plates and a tow bar you'll also need wiring and a supplemental braking system for your F-150.

Kyle's response caused some confusion in my order. When I called E Trailer they helped clear that up but seemed to contradict his statement . I have a 2013 F150 XLT without EcoBoost. His statement on the BO74FR says "With EcoBoost Engine" leading it to appear the BX2606 might be the correct fit. According to E Trailer on a call while verifying with Blue OX the BO74FR was the correct fit. I installed the BO74FR with ease. Wanted to make this clear for others that read his response as it cause me hours of delay.
