Question:

I have a new to me 2011 F-150 with factory hitch and there is a lot of rust on the factory hitch and material is flaking off in places rest of the underside of the truck is clean, looks like it might have been a finish issue. If I replace the hitch with Ford part 9L3Z-17D826-A to support the bumper, do you know if I will be able to bolt the Curt hitch into place?

We might have a solution for you, but I cannot confirm if the reinforcement bracket for your 2011 Ford F-150 is capable of supporting the bumper and an aftermarket hitch.

The OEM hitch on your F-150 is welded to the brackets that support the bumper. Removing the hitch and brackets and replacing that with the reinforcement beam doesn't guarantee an aftermarket hitch can be used.

However, if you are worried about your factory hitch's towing capability, we do have a hitch that can be installed alongside it that will give you more security and a higher capacity. It's the TorkLift SuperHitch Hero, part # TLF1005H, In essence, it gives you a second hitch that has a gross trailer weight of 8000 pounds on its own and up to 15,000 pounds with a weight distribution system.
