what is the best hitch for towing a motorcycle and trailer trough the mountains on a honda ridgeline

We offer two trailer hitches for your 2008 Honda Ridgeline by Curt # 13385 and Draw-Tite # 75280. The Draw-Tite has a slightly higher tongue weight capacity at 750 lbs than the Curt hitch, but the Curt hitch is more economically priced. The tongue weight capacity of the Curt hitch is 500 lbs. Both trailer hitches have a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000 lbs.
As long as the weight of your trailer and motorcycle do not exceed GTW or TW capacities of the hitch or your vehicle, then either of the trailer hitches would work great for you. Be sure you verify the weight of your trailer when it is fully loaded before you attempt to tow with your vehicle.
My recommendation is the Draw-Tite hitch because it has a higher tongue weight capacity and the price difference from the Curt hitch is not very much. We have had a chance to install the Draw-Tite hitch on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline so I attached the installation video for you to check out.
A few other items that you may need to complete your towing set up is a wiring harness, # 118400, and a ball mount kit, # 989900. The wiring harness is the Tow Ready T-One wiring harness that simply plugs into the factory tail light connector so there is no splicing or cutting required for installation. The converter box on this wiring harness will protect your vehicle wiring from electrical shorts or mis-wire situations from the trailer.
