Troubleshooting Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack that Wont Fit 2 Inch Hitch Receiver
Question:
I just bought me a Yakima Full Tilt bike rack. I have a 2 inch receiver. Bike rack won’t fit in. There is a adapter that you can take out for 1 1/4 inch receiver. When adapter is off, bike rack fits, but it wobbles. Will this work?

Your Yakima FullTilt features a SpeedKnob that tightens the rack inside your hitch to reduce noise and movement. Based on your photo, it looks like the anti rattle device on the adapter is slightly expanded, preventing it from going into your 2 inch hitch receiver.
Try turning the SpeedKnob counter clockwise until the anti rattle device is flush with the rest of the adapter (see photo below), or until it won't allow you to turn it anymore. This will allow you to insert the shank with 2 inch adapter into your receiver. You do not want to use the bike rack on your 2 inch receiver without the adapter sleeve installed, or with any other aftermarket anti rattle device.
Once it's in, and the hitch pin holes are lined up on the receiver and the bike rack, you can simply tighten it back up.
I've attached a review video at the bottom of the page that shows how the SpeedKnob works at the very beginning.
