Trouble Uninstalling the Yakima FullSwing's Auto Pin From the Trailer Hitch

Question:
The AutoPin on my recently purchased FullSwing bike rack is not releasing the pin out to engage the hitch hole when button is released. Tried lubricating it, no change

Expert Reply:
On Yakima's Full Swing, part # Y02465, the hitch lock free spins if the hitch is not unlocked. This can lead to the pin disengaging from the handle, making it difficult to remove.
To engage the pin again, unlock the hitch lock, then press in and rotate the handle until it feels like it grabs something. This can occur in either direction. Then, turn the handle about three more times. From here, rotate the handle to the left to disengage the auto pin and remove the rack from the vehicle.
