Question:
Just received the RM-523162-4 tow plate and had a disturbing thought about the research Ive done to tow this model car. Generally AWD cars are NOT flat towable, so I need to confirm. The 2015 SRX FWD is flat towable, but I didnt ask specifically if the AWD model I own is also towable. The manual says it is, but Im not clear if the statement is meant specifically for the AWD model. BTW, Excellent service ordering and delivery of this base plate. I hope i can still use it.

According to the online copy of the 2015 Cadillac SRX owner's manual I took a look at, "Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles may be dinghy towed from the front. These vehicles can also be towed by placing them on a platform trailer
with all four wheels off of the ground." GM states that your vehicle shouldn't be towed at speeds greater than 65mph, or damage could occur.
AS far as procedure goes, you'll need to remove the shift lever boot, and use a small screwdriver to depress and hold the manual release button as shown in the provided diagram.
In addition to the tow bar and base plates, you'll also need safety cables like # RM-643, a wiring solution like # RM-15267, a supplemental braking system like # RM-8700 along with a # RM-751441 stoplamp switch kit.
You could also need a high/low adapter if the height difference between the installed base plate which is 19 inches and the receiver on the motorhome is greater than 3 inches. I've linked to our selection of high/low adapters.
