Which Front SumoSprings for Snow Plowing with my 2017 Jeep Wrangler
Updated 03/05/2020 | Published 03/03/2020 >
Question:
Im thinking of adding front SumoSprings to help my 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 door bear the weight of my 7foot snow plow. Im thinking that the longer off road version might be better because it engages sooner and should minimize the front end when I raise the plow? I dont want to negatively change the ride characteristics when I dont have the plow attached. Which Sumo Springs do you recommend the regular , off road or other? Thanks Kevin

Thanks for the question! I really like what you're doing here it will really help out in the long run and prevent the typical permanent sag we see a lot in vehicles that are used for plowing often. In your case I recommend going with the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for Jeep - Front Axle - Off-Road part # SSF-402-54 like you said these re going to engage more quickly than the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for Jeep - Front Axle part # SSF-401-54 .
It doesn't come as a sacrifice in the ride quality department when not plowing either the cool thing about the Sumos is that they are progressive and provide more support the more load they see. So in just everyday driving they will have little to no effect and that effect will likely be an improvement in ride quality feel rather than a negative to it. This will also be a very quick and easy installation that can be done at home with simple hand tools.
