Is Kuat Hi-Lo or Hi-Lo Pro Hitch Extender Better For Anti-Rattle

Question:
I watched your videos on both the Kuat Hi Lo and Hi Lo Pro hitch extenders. In your opinion is the wobble that bad with the Hi Lo? Should you just spend the extra money and get the Hi Lo Pro? I have the Piston pro bike rack, and it has the parts inside you adjust to eliminate the vibration. Would I need it also with the hitch extender?

Hey Ken,
Great questions, and for the best overall anti-rattle the better option is definitely the Kuat Hi-Lo Pro Hitch Extender # KU37FR.
While the standard Hi-Lo # HL20B has an anti-rattle pin, it's not at the same level as the hitch cam anti-rattle of the Hi-Lo Pro. And even though your Piston Pro # KU76ZR also has anti-rattle, that's just for the hitch it's going into, if that makes sense.
It might be easier to think of the extender as a separate hitch in this scenario. The Piston Pro's anti-rattle will keep it steady inside the hitch it is going into (the extender), but the extender can still rattle inside the receiver hitch on your vehicle. The Hi-Lo Pro also comes with a lock while the standard version doesn't, so for both those reasons I do think it's worth it to go with the Kuat Hi-Lo Pro Hitch Extender # KU37FR.
