Wiring a 2011 Victory Motorcycle and Trailer for Towing
Question:
I have a 2011 victory vision tour motorcycle. I have a metal shop so I built my own trailer out of alum.. diamond plate. Is there a plug n play wiring harness for my bike to go to my home made trailer.I can put any kind of lights that you suggest, THANK YOU

For simplicity, I would recommend wiring the motorcycle trailer as a vehicle trailer would be.
A powered converter wiring kit, like part # C59496, would be connected to the motorcycle, which would provide a 4-pole trailer connector. The converter combines the brake lamp and the directional signal onto one circuit. The 4-pole connector utilizes four circuits, the white wire which is the ground, the green wire carries the right turn and brake light combined on one circuit, the yellow wire carries the left turn and brake light combined on a single circuit and the brown wire carries the signal for running and marker lights. There is not a plug and play option, but the install would be pretty simple as you can see from the install instructions (see link). Installing the converter would not affect the way the motorcycle turn signals or tail lights function and the trailer lighting will draw power from the motorcycle battery, protecting your motorcycles lighting circuits.
Your trailer would then be wired as shown in the Wiring FAQ I have linked to. We offer various light kits, that include the wiring harness, the lamps and the license plate bracket like part # TL29BK. A similar kit is available using LED lamps, part # TLL9RK.
Or, instead of using a kit, you can look through the large selection of lights we offer and choose the lights you prefer. Just make sure that lights you choose for the rear are three function, for the stop, turn and tail light. Since you are custom building the trailer you might want to consider flush mount lighting and a wiring kit. I put together a drawing showing how you might install and wire a light kit on your trailer, and added some part numbers below that you could use to create your own custom kit.
