I am not really sure what you are trying to do but you can install a trailer hitch on the rear of a trailer. There are two different kinds of trailer hitches for trailers, frame mount and bumper mount. The frame mount hitches are much stronger but will require more effort to install whereas bumper mount hitches typically have less of a capacity as they are limited to the bumpers capacity but require less effort to install. Please note that before you install a bumper mount hitch you will need to reach out to the trailer manufacturer to make sure the bumper is rated for this use.

For a frame mount trailer hitch I recommend the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13701 and for a bumper mount trailer hitch I recommend the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E-100. I have attached review videos of each option for you.

I would like to pull like a 5x8 trailer with a Honda Pioneer 500 on it.

@Keith Hey Keith, it looks like both the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13701 and # E-100 will work for that. These hitches have plenty of capacity to be able to tow your Honda Pioneer 500.

We need to install a class Iii hitch to the back of our travel trailer in order to install a vertical bike rack that we’d like to purchase that would carry at least 4 bikes. Do you recommend that same hitch or think it’s a bad idea?

@Michelle Curt doesn't allow for vertical hanging bike racks with their hitches like these so that won't work. With the additional force from that rack style I would question its compatibility with a travel trailer. You need to make sure it is rated for a travel trailer before using it. Assuming the bike rack is rated for a travel trailer the best option I have is the Curt # 15903. This is a Class V hitch with a 2" receiver. Since it has a weld-on installation it doesn't have the same vertical bike rack restriction. This fits frames 18" - 60" and comes with 11-1/2" brackets. The brackets will probably have to be trimmed as well to get the right fit. We recommend taking this to a professional welder for installation.
