Question:
2018 Subaru Crosstrek Install Is there enough clearance to install while car is on the ground, or does it need to be jacked? Whats the best low-cost option to widen the mounting holes? Do you need a torque wrench to tighten mounting bolts or will a ratchet do the job?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13382 is the easiest install of the trailer hitch options for your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. If you are okay with working in extremely close contact with the underside of your Crosstrek, you can install it while the car is on the ground. Most people will prefer to use some jack stands like # PTW41021 or the jack with stands # PTW1605 to give you a little more room especially because an extra set of hands is also helpful.
I've attached a video of this installation to assist. The easiest way to enlarge holes is to use a stepped drill bit (with the cone shape) and you will want to use a torque wrench like # ALL944001 or an adapter like # ALL940962 to ensure your warranty.
