Comparing the Dexter Duo-Servo Brake Kit with the etrailer Uni-Servo Brake Kit

Question:

I am in need of new brakes for my trailer. They are I belive dexter 7k axles. The fallowing 2 part numbers are what your system says I can use. I am wondering of the cheaper set will work as in the pictures they are not the same as what is on it currently. 23-336-337 seams to be a exact fit AKUBRK-7 is what I am questioning. There is only 1 side wheel cylinder vs the other kit has a 2 sided.

The Dexter Hydraulic Drum Brake Kit # 23-336-337 that you mentioned are Duo-Servo brakes meaning they deliver the same amount of braking whether you are driving either forward or in reverse. The Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # AKUBRK-7 that you referenced are Uni-Servo brakes which means that they will still apply braking when going in reverse, just not as much (about 20% total power) as the Duo-Servo brakes.

Unless you plan on doing a lot of backing up with your trailer and you need that extra power then it is totally acceptable to use the etrailer kit over the Dexter kit. Other than the extra cylinder these kits are very similar and you will still get a quality product with our kit.
