Troubleshooting Trailer Tail Light Functions and 2016 Ram 1500
Question:
So i plugged in the flasher box on my camper and the left side break and flasher are working from the flasher box, but not plugged into the truck. So this tells me it is probably the truck plug in that is not working.. do you have a part number to a 7 prong plug and play, and could you tell me the location of the fuse to a 2016 dodge ram 1500 .

It sounds like you need to test your trailer connectors. I recommend first using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the pins at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. The 3 o'clock position is the right turn and brake pin and the 9 o'clock is the same for the left side that you stated is working. If the 3 o'clock pin works using the tester, then your trailer wiring is the next step. If it is not working first check the F81 fuse. If the fuse is good then you will need to use the circuit tester to probe the corresponding wire behind the connector to determine if the con nector is bad.
If the 2016 Ram 1500 works then you can connect the trailer pins directly to a battery to test functions. If you don't have function for that right turn and stop light, you will want to first check the bulb and then check your ground connections. Each tail light will either have a separate ground or will ground through the mounting hardware. Make sure you have a bare metal to metal connection. Then you can test the wires going into the taillight for function probing every few feet with your circuit tester to find the short. Replace as needed with # 16-1-1 sold by the foot.
