Picking Between 27 inch and 25-1/8 inch Long Leaf Spring for Trailer

Question:

Looking to purchase leaf springs for a diy utility trailer with 3500# axle. Is there any reason not to go with the longer 27” leaf springs compared to the 25.125”. Purchasing new hang kit as well, suggestions?

There wouldn't be a noticeable difference between a 25-1/8 inch leaf spring and a 27 inch spring. But since the 25-1/8 inch size # e54SR is more common it would be what I would go with in case you ever had to replace them in the future. This would make your future replacement a little easier.
