Question:
Can a brake control be installed on a 2017 Pacifica with start/stop technology? The local dealer said they would not put one in for me.

I spoke with Tekonsha who is one of the leading brake controller manufacturers and they stated that you should have no problems installing a brake controller on your 2017 Chrysler Pacifica with start/stop technology. All of the electronics within the vehicle will still remain on while the vehicle has come to a stop and temporary shut down which is why there will be no issues with the brake controller.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 which is one of our best selling brake controllers due to it's continuous diagnostic checks, integrated safeguards, and storable boost settings. If you are looking for something more cost effective than I recommend the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 which has the same continuous diagnostic checks and integrated safeguards as the P3 but not the storable boost settings.
If your Pacifica came with a factory 7-way trailer connector then you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # TK93VR to install the controller which is completely plug and play. If your Pacifica did not come with a factory 7-way trailer connector then you will need to hardwire the controller.
I have attached a review video of both the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 and Tekonsha Primus IQ for you as well.
