Need New Brake Controller For My Truck

Updated 06/06/2025 | Published 06/04/2025

Question:

Hi! I need a new brake controller for my truck, but the plug looks different than the ones on the website. Could I send you an image for a recommendation?

Hello Chirs, thanks for reaching out.

What is the year, make and model of your truck? Was it equipped with a tow package from the factory? Let me know.

There is no way to add pictures on here, but you can email them to me at [email protected] and I can definitely take a look. Typically the year, make and model is all we need to know though.

Thanks Jessie! I sent you an image of the plug. It's a 2007 Toyota Tundra.

@Chris I did get your picture. That appears to be the standard 2007 Toyota Brake control plug. For a brake controller what I recommend is the following: - Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - Up to 4 Axles - Proportional # TK77ER This comes with the P3 brake controller which is one of the best available, as well as the custom pigtail for your Tundra. I do not have a way to add pictures on here, but if you go to the part page for the # TK77ER you can see pictures of the pigtail and it does appear to match the plug in your picture. This video will show you how to install. Side note but if for some reason the plug is not correct, you can always cut off the factory plug and hardwire the controller.
