How Does 7-Way Trailer Wiring Normally Disconnect from Vehicle's Harness
Question:
I have twisted the 7 pin unit out of the bumper. removed the little white retainer tabs, but still not able to seperate the female housing from the harness. Any suggestions?

Disconnecting 7-way trailer wiring harnesses can be a bit difficult. But if you check out the :46 mark of the video I attached you'll see the pin that has to come out as well as the effort required to get the two pieces to separate.
It looks like you have the pin out already and will just need to pull the two pieces apart.
