Winch Plate Compatibility with a 2-5/16 Hitch Ball
Updated 05/22/2018 | Published 05/21/2018 >
Question:
Do you have a winch plate that fits over a 2-5/16 ball? I have a Band W trailer hitch in the bed of my truck for pulling a gooseneck horse trailer. I would like to connect my winch to the hitch so I pull smaller items into the bed such as a log splitter or troybilt tiller old kind.

The Dutton-Lainson Ball Adapter Plate for StrongArm SA Series Electric Winches # DL24053 is the winch plate that fits over a hitch ball but only up to a 2 inch ball. I reached out to the manufacturer and the widest point is 2-1/4 inches so just shy of the 2-5/16 inches to fit your gooseneck. They do this so people don't hurt the hitch by pulling too hard with the winch. For your application, you could file/grind the inside hole a little and get the function you desire, but there is not a hitch ball mount for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
