Question:
Im trying to decide between these 2 hitches for my 2015 Civic Sedan Ex. The Curt hitch recommends a support strap. The Eco-Hitch doesn't not say anything about using a support strap. Why is this? I understand what the support strap does, but it seems strange that on 2 very similar hitches, only 1 recommends a strap. Is there a reason for this? Does the Curt hitch stick out farther than the Eco-Hitch? Is the Curt made of thinner material? Or is it just Curt trying to cover their butts in case someone does something stupid?

For your 2015 Honda Civic sedan, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11391 which is a confirmed fit. Curt has a 200-pound capacity and requires the # 18050 stabilization strap to provide extra support for when the vehicle goes over rough pavement or experiences a sudden shock like hitting a pothole. It is an extra safety measure.
You could also consider the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7235. This hitch does not require the extra strap, has a 300-pound tongue weight, and has the more versatile 2" receiver opening.
I have included information for each of these for you to check out.
