installing New Light Bar With Only One Wire On Boat Trailer
Question:
My new light bar is a single wire connection but the existing wiring on the trailer has a solid brown and white wire. Would it matter if I connected the new bar to the existing trailer wire?installing new light bar on boat trailer

Expert Reply:
The existing wires on your boat trailer are for running lights and ground. The single wire replacement light should be connected to the brown wire and the white wire should be attached to the mounting screw since the unit must ground through the mounting hardware and frame. I recommend testing it for function before the complete installation.
The Truck and Trailer Identification Light Bar - LED - Submersible - 9 Diode - Red Lens # MCL97RPG is a great example of this and you can see the way it is grounded in the attached video for proper function to the frame bracket.
