Hi etrailer - I just ordered a pair of your PW1038, but was not sure if they need to go on the back or front of the car. Which is preferred? Thank you

According to the owner's manual for the 2014 Subaru Outback you can use certain types of traction devices and only on the front wheels. The manual states you can't use chains but you can use what they call spring chains which are cable style tire chains.
For your tire size, 225/60-17, you can use cables # PW1038. I also recommend rubber adjusters # PW105 to keep the cables tight and centered.
