Question:
I am interested in buying a new pickup and a used RV to go with it. My first choice would be a Fifth-Wheel, probably 22-26. I really like the looks of the new GMC Canyon and it advertizes a 7,000 lb towing capacity with the 3.6 liter V6, but I cant find anything on the GMC website that states whether a Canyon can be set up for a Fifth-Wheel or not. Can anyone provide me with a recommendation? Thanks!

The 2015 GMC Canyon (which they build right across the street from us) cannot tow a 5th wheel trailer. The bed is too narrow and none of the manufacturers make an installation kit that will fit it. You will have to go with a full size truck (or a travel trailer instead of a 5th wheel).
If you go with a full size truck I strongly recommend at least a 3/4 ton and definitely a long bed.
If you decide on the Canyon and tow a travel trailer instead of a 5th wheel trailer then for a trailer hitch I recommend # C13176. It is rated for 8,000 pounds gross trailer weight but you would be limited to the 7,000 pounds you mentioned.
I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And if you choose a Canyon that does not come with a factory 7-Way trailer connector to add one you would first install a 4-Way, # C59496, and then installation kit # ETBC7.
