Weight distribution is recommended if the gross trailer weight is 50 percent or more than the vehicle weight or if the rear of the vehicle sags when the trailer is coupled. If your truck weighs more than 6,500 pounds and does not sag when the trailer is coupled then you really wouldn't need weight distribution. Adding sway control though, such as # 83660, would still be beneficial.
If you want to use weight distribution then to choose a system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
A trailer that weighs 3,250 pounds would have a tongue weight of 325 to 488 pounds (10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight). Pro Series system, # PS49901, would be a great option since it is rated up to 550 pounds tongue weight and it comes with sway control, a shank, and a 2-5/16 inch ball. If a 2 inch ball is needed use # A-90.
I have included some helpful links on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you.
