One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

This oil cooler has really helped improve the oil pressure in my GEN III Hemi by reducing the oil temperate approximately 20 degrees cooler than before we installed it. Excellent product by Derale and service by etrailer.com.

by:

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler.

My original transmission cooler sprung a leak on my 1990 dodge pickup and a direct replacement couldn't be found. Etrailer had a cooler that would fit and do the job. Would highly recommend them to solve your problems and supply what's needed.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for a 2011 Toyota Corolla
Both the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13611 and the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit , # D13501, would be a great choice for your 2011 Toyota Corolla. The general rule is that transmission fluid cannot be cooled too much, so using the largest cooler that will fit is a good idea, especially if towing. The only reason not to add the largest cooler possible, would be if you live in very cold climates where temperatures are below 0 degrees often...

  • Can the Edge Insight Monitor Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2004 Toyota Camry
The transmission temperature on your 2004 Toyota Camry should run through the computer and be accessible through the OBD-II port using the Edge Insight, # EP84130. The parameters that you could potentially monitor include: Battery Voltage Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Miles Per Hour (MPH) Miles Per Gallon (MPG) Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) 1/4-mile and 0 - 60 times If...

  • Recommend A Transmission Cooler and Fittings For 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis
The item you selected, the Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D13611 will work on your 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis as long as you have room to mount it on your vehicle. The ideal place to mount a transmission cooler for maximum cooling efficiency is behind the grill of your 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis but in front of the radiator. Part # D13611 is a plate and fin cooler and is very effective in cooling the transmission fluid. You will want to measure at the front of your vehicle to make...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2008 GMC Yukon
A transmission cooler is exactly what you need to keep the transmission fluid at an ideal temperature which is below 200 degrees. Ideally, you'll want to get the largest cooler that will fit into the available space. The best spot to install a cooler is directly behind the front grille, in front of the radiator and the a/c condenser. The Derale # D13504 would be ideal if you have enough room to accommodate its 11 inch wide by 12 inch tall size. The cooler would tap into the return line...

  • Will a Transmission Cooler Affect Engine Temperature Towing With A 2016 Grand Caravan
Transmission coolers should not impair the engine's ability to stay cool when operating. One point to note is that these coolers are much smaller than the radiator and allow plenty of air flow to pass both around and through to the engine. For transmission coolers, the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a fine choice. It's a radiator style design and the fluid is continually agitated to help dissipate heat. Include is a video review for more information.

  • Which Transmission Cooler is Recommended for a 2005 Honda Pilot
Mounting a trans cooler in front of everything else, radiator and AC condenser, will yield the most cooling ability. The size of the heat exchanger is the factor that weighs most heavily on the cooling ability followed by location and construction/design. The best way to select a cooler is by considering the load you will be towing and the area you will be towing in. The cooler needed to aid in towing a single jet ski in a cool or moderate climate would not be nearly as big as the cooler...

  • Can a 2006 Buick Lucerne Tow an 800 Pound Trailer without a Transmission Cooler
According to the owner's manual for the 2006 Buick Lucerne it has a gross trailer weight capacity of 1,000 pounds maximum. It does not say that a transmission cooler is required. However, a transmission cooler is always a good idea, especially when towing, to keep the fluid cooler so the transmission is less likely to get damaged or wear out any faster than normal. If you do decide to install a cooler the most popular option for models with the 4.6 liter V8 is # D13503. And we also recommend...

  • Comparing Different Types of Transmission Coolers for a 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon
The reason you do not see any cooling capacity figures for a transmission cooler is because there are just too many variables at hand to give any sort of accurate estimates. These variables have to do with ambient temperature, mounting location, etc. That said, there is a way to compare the coolers and that is by their construction; tube-and-fin (least efficient), plate-and-fin (moderately efficient), stacked-plate (most effective). The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler...

If you can find external transmission lines on your 2014 Honda Accord you can install a transmission cooler. For a vehicle like yours that won't be towing anything ever most likely you wouldn't really need one. But they can't hurt. • Can Transmission Cooler be Installed on a Vehicle with Sealed Transmission
Sealed transmissions make installing a transmission cooler a bit more interesting since there isn't an easy way to add or check fluid. There may not be a dipstick on your transmission, but there is drain and fill plug. • Will Aftermarket Radiator Solve Leaking Transmission Cooler Problems in 2006 Nissan Xterra
