2005 Kia Sorento - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Kia Sorento's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

Timely receipt. have not installed yet. but the instructions seem simple enough.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

by:

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.
Friendly and informative people on the phone were knowledgeable and new their product. I will shop here again.

  • How to Find the Flat Towing Procedure and Parts Needed for a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Take a look in your owner's manual for a recreational towing section or in emergency towing to determine the proper procedure/gear that your 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs to be in for flat towing. I can only go back to 2004 online so I cannot check the 1997 model year but I can tell you all the parts you will need. First, you will need base plates for the Jeep. If you want removable base plates (so they are not easily noticeable at the front of the vehicle when not towing it) I recommend...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2012 Honda Accord Sedan Behind an RV
To flat tow your 2012 Honda Accord behind your RV you will first need base plates, # BX2254. But the way that these base plates are spaced once installed on the vehicle prohibits the use of the Acclaim tow bar. But you can use the Adventurer tow bar # BX7322 which costs less than the Acclaim but does not come with safety cables. To add safety cables you can use # RM-643. Next you will need a lighting solution. You can use a simple magnetic kit such as # RM-2120 which is easy to set up...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1986 Suzuki Samurai
Yes, you are looking for a coupler style or car-mounted tow bar. For that I would recommend the RoadMaster StowMaster All Terrain Car-Mounted Tow Bar # RM-501. When not in use you could fold it up on the front of your 1986 Suzuki Samurai. You would also need the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 1003-1 that you referenced. You will also need safety cables, like # RM-643. For lighting the easiest solution is a magnetic light kit like # RM-2120. The magnets stick to a metal surface on the vehicle...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1988 Suzuki Samurai with a 2004 GMC Sierra
You will need a specific wiring set up on the 1988 Suzuki Samurai in order to flat tow it behind your truck. If you want to keep the turn signals separate on the Suzuki then you can use hardwire diode kit with converter # 154-792-118158. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. Another option is to just use a magnetic kit like # RM-2120. This unit will plug into the 4-Way adapter end and the lights are independent of the vehicle so you will not have to cut into...

  • Recommended Base Plates to use with Falcon 2 Tow Bar on 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk
If you have the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520, the EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521446-5 referenced in your question will be perfect for installing on your 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. These Base Plates work with the Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch like the Falcon 2. The EZ5 Base Plates do not use the quick-disconnect crossbar so this will not be needed on your Jeep. To complete your flat towing setup, you will just need a few more things if you do not have them...

  • Base Plates, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, Lighting, and Braking System to Flat Tow a 2009 Chevy Malibu
We do have base plates to flat tow your Malibu, but the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, # 523102-1, is designed to fit the 2000 - 2002 Saturn L Series All Models, so it is not a fit for a 2009 Chevy Malibu and it cannot be modified to fit. Instead, you will need to use # 523145-5. These are EZ style base plates that are compatible with several different tow bars. A good economical tow bar is the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020. To make the EZ base plate arms removable, you will also...

  • Base Plate and Tow Bar Compatibility for 2014 Chevy Captiva
First, you'll want to positively confirm that the vehicle is capable of being flat towed. My research indicates the vehicle can be flat towed at speeds up to 65 mph, but you'll want to confirm this for yourself with your owner's manual or Chevy. The correct Roadmaster base plate kit for your Captiva would be part # 3151-1A, which is compatible with your Falcon 5250 tow bar. You'll need some other equipment to complete your towing system. If you don't already have safety cables, I'd recommend...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge with Manual Transmission and Blue Ox Tow Bar
According to Blue Ox, you can use base plates on the 2004 Ford Ranger Edge without tow hooks on the vehicle. When I did some research on flat towing the 2004 Ford Ranger Edge, I could only find information on models with an automatic transmission. If you have transmission M5OD-R-1HD then the Ranger is towable. If you have a 4 wheel drive, the transfer case will need to be placed in 2 wheel drive high and the manual transmission in neutral. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2016 Ford F-150 King Ranch with LED Tail Lights Behind an RV
For tow bar wiring for your 2016 Ford F-150 I recommend going with a magnetic kit # RM-2120. The issue is that the diode kits and converters that go with them are not rated for use with LED tail lights. The best option then is going to be a magnetic kit. And having a wireless system means you won't have to run any wires or worry about complicated installations on the truck. Since the lights are magnetic you may need to use tow light partners # TLP01 in the windows of the truck if the lights...

Base plate kits are vehicle specific and this one is made to fit your Vibe. I have included a video that shows a base plate kit being installed to give you a general idea of what it entails. But what you should know is that these base plates are fixed meaning they will always be visible at the front of the vehicle. Assuming that the RV and hitch are rated high enough you will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to tow your 2013 Buick Enclave.
