1998 Jeep Cherokee

Mounted this on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ with factory towing to replace the 7 pole round socket, the connection into the factory harness was plug and play, perfect fit, bracket easily mounted to my Heavy off road bumper, looks like it belonged there all along.

by:

Really fast shipping. Product just as described. The bracket is strong and sturdy.

Of course, price matters - and everything is too expensive right now, but what matters more is quality. I appreciate being able to contact someone (you), and get just what I’m looking for. The quality seems completely top notch, and I’m anxious to get this installed and start using it.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Found out I didn't need the wiring harness. The Jeep just plugged right into the back of the 7 way. was done in 7 minutes. Not knowing I didn't need the wiring harness would have save me $45.

If you do not need the wiring on your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee I recommend part # HM40975.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

15 minute install. High quality craftsmanship. Would highly recommend!!! Incredibly clean install on a brand new vehicle

by:

The kit was easy to replace. I had water intrusion and the connections were corroded. I am now getting the same fault code/warning on my truck a year later. Not sure if this replacement part has water / failed - need to remove once the weather warms up.

Hi Terry, Thanks for your feedback! When using these connectors, I would recommend using dielectric grease to help keep contaminates out of the connection points. Using Loctite Bulb, Lamp, and Electrical Connection Dielectric Grease, part LT37534 , will help prevent the corrosion of the connectors.

This company have been nothing but understanding and professional. I ordered my parts for my new RV and they came through without a hitch. I liked that I could track the package along the way. Keep up the good work y’all

After one year the product is still performing well. The cable provided made it easy to attach it to my stock wiring harness on the Grand Cherokee.

by:
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My 2018 Grand Cherokee didn't need the wire harness, so it cost me an extra 20 some dollars per part I didn't need, so jeep owners look under and see if you have a round plug in the back with a end cap on. No one tells you what to look for.

This part is only sold with the harness and the bracket included. This plug will not fit into the factory sockets or mounts for 7-ways. The closes thing we have that might be able to fit your factory opening is part 30955.

  • Troubleshooting No Power To 7-Way On A 2017 Ram 1500
Another thing you can check on your 2017 Dodge Ram 1500's 7-way is the physical connector. You're going to want to ensure that there is no corrosion or that may be causing a malfunction. You're going to want to make sure that the ground wires are all properly grounded and that they are free from corrosion and there are no breaks in the wire. You're also going to want to make sure that the wires inside the receptacle are not damaged in any way. If all your wiring is good to go, then you'll...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Lock Up with no Electric Brake Controller Installed
You have a short somewhere on the brake output wire going back to the 7-way trailer connector on your 2013 Dodge Durango. I would start at the 7-way and inspect the connector and the brake wire. The brake connects to the pin in a 5 O'clock position when looking into the connector. If you find the problem on the trailer connector harness before it plugs into the truck's wiring you can either fix the wire or replace the harness with # HM40975-11933. If it's deeper into the truck or you...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation For 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Pollak 7-Way part # HM40975-11933 is a fit for your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and would plug into a square connector at the rear of the vehicle. Most likely it's the connector you found already based on what you described. You might test the pins of the connector you found with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. If they are active when vehicle taillight signals are on then this will work. If instead you do not have the tow package wiring complete the T-one kit part # 118727 would...

  • Compatibility of Hopkins HM42190 With 2016 Jeep Wrangler with Tow Package
Since your 2016 Wrangler Unlimited has the factory tow package, you should be able to plug the # HM42190 right in. To confirm, you'll want to follow the wire feeding your 4 pole under the vehicle to where it plugs into the tow package harness. If that plugs into a rectangular connector, you'll simply unplug that connection, and plug the rectangular connector on the # HM42190 into it. If you wanted both a 4 pole and a 7-way, you could use part # HM40975-11933 which would install the same...

  • Trailer Brakes Activating With Brake Pedal Is Pressed With No Brake Controller Installed
If you're getting voltage to the trailer brakes with no controller installed, and when it WAS connected it wasn't reading the brakes, it sounds like your trailer connector on the vehicle is either damaged or has had corrosion spread to the terminals inside where the wires attach. Once the terminals corrode, the corrosion builds up can can actually allow adjacent circuits to bridge which would explain why you get brakes without a controller installed. It's possible that the brake lamp circuit...

  • Recommended Trailer Connection Wiring and Brake Controller for 2005 Dodge Ram Half Ton
The 2005 Dodge Ram base didn't have a factory 4-way. If you have the factory 4-way connection, then you can use the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way Trailer Connector # HM42190 or the Pollak # HM40975-11933, both of which plug into that same harness to give you a 7-way. Because you have the factory 4-flat connector, you will have the wiring needed for your brake controller. You will simply use the wiring harness # 3020-P which plugs into the 4-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in...

The correct OEM replacement for the 7-way wiring harness on your 2010 Dodge Dakota is the # PK11933. If your 7-way was damaged when it melted you can replace both using the # HM40975-11933. There is no option that comes with a built in T that would allow you to run 5th wheel/gooseneck wiring. The only option would be to buy a complete wiring harness and add it in like the # C56001 you were looking at.
