after I tried numerous options I finally got this base to sit in the proper place.I had to position the hitch backwards. the rear with the B&W emblem is in the front contrary to the instructions. every position I tried left the hitch behind the rear axle, and positioned my rv hitch almost touching my endgate. other than the installation snafu it is a very sturdy and well constructed hitch.
Well this is not my first B&W I love the product and encourage other people that are getting their 1st fifth wheel hitch to go with B&W.
Packaging was inappropriate. Box arrived shredded with gaping holes and ineffective attempts to repair with packaging tape. Reasonable consideration should be made for shipping a bulky item weighing nearly 150 lbs.
Simply the best. Been towing large fifthwheels for many years and tried different brands. Have used this brand fiftwheel hitch on 3 different trucks. This one has a higher tow capacity than the older version. B&W is the best on the market period and can't go wrong getting it from etrailer.
Great service! The new base arrived promptly. As usual, the box was destroyed, but nothing was missing or damaged. Assembly was easy. I will continue to shop etrailer

The B&W 3500 Base unit is extremely well built. Putting it together and installing in existing turn-over ball gooseneck hitch was a snap. Great information on etrailer's site.
After transferring the old 3000 Companion to a newer truck(2013 GMC 3500HD) was never satisfied with performance seemed to be denting truck bed. So glad the 3500 was created and upgrading to 20,000 lb capacity is a big plus. The older hitch head fit perfect as stated in etrailer's information. Everything worked smooth from ordering to shipping(free!) to installation. Thanks so much.
This B&W RVB3500 base unit is a very good, sturdy product. The head unit mounts securely to the base quickly and easily. The workmanship is top notch, and the base is easy to assemble. I like the fact that the base unit can be easily removed/installed in my truck bed, and that when removed it leaves no mounting hardware that could interfere with use of the bed for hauling cargo.

The new B&W Companion Replacement Base is GREAT! Much better than the original.
I was using the RVK3000 base with my old truck. Didnt want to spend the $$ for a whole new hitch as it had only 1500 miles on it. Saw another review on this base and that the old head would work with it, so I hesitantly ordered it. Dang, it got here fast with the shipping upgrade. Box was a little tattered thanks to UPS, but then again it weighed a ton, and all the parts were there. Configured my arms and nervously placed the 5th head on it, and perfect!!! 1.5 inches taller as my 2017 F350 needed and no other adjustments to my trailers 5th wheel pin box thank you !! I am a loyal B&W fan, and etrailer is #1 in my book too... All during this christmas rush !!

B&W make great heavy duty hitches. My truck is ten years old and have used the same head the entire time. Purchased the upgraded base last year before leaving Michigan for Texas. has been in my truck ever since. Have had no problems or issues what so ever. Super product and etrailer had the best price and super service.
Love the new base for my 5th wheel. The easy to use pre-load screw makes tightening down the system much quicker and easier. Also like the poly bars fit in the truck bed slots to minimize side movement. My older base was loaned to a friend and he bent the framework by not tightening the bar to the pin. I was glad to see a higher rated replacement with better features available.

Still working as designed one year later.
The item came in a reasonable time frame for the order. It was exactly what I expected to receive. Assembled easily as the instructions were very good and clear concerning torque specifications. We have used it to pull a 40 foot triple axle toy hauler multiple times since purchasing this item. We already had the pedestal for B&W companion hitch and it fit perfectly. Very pleased with all aspects of this purchase.
I went this route for a 5th wheel set-up because you can remove the base and not have to worry about still having rails in the bed of you truck. This is a well built base.
Great product and company to work with, first Etrailer is my go to for service parts, second the customer service is great.

I upgraded from the 3000 series to this 3500. I loved the ease of use before, the new design is even better. Easy assembly, great design. The only way to go to make your truck multi use (5th wheel and gooseneck). Fast shipping right to my front door (132 lbs shipping weight, I bet my FedEx guy wondered what in the world I was getting). I'll keep etrailer in mind for any other purchases in the future.
the gooseneck hitch base is a great product for B&M. just purchasing the base allows you to use the 5th wheel receiver instead of purchasing both units if you already had the standard rail set up. I preferred to stick with the B&M hitch because I was satisfied with the set up I already had. I feel the gooseneck set up has less noise than the bed in rail style.
Great product which will help raise my 5th wheel camper 1.5 inches higher than my model 3000 base. This will accommodate the extra height of the bed rails on my 2015 Chevrolet truck. Dealing with e trailer was quick and easy. Their service is excellent. The new model 3500 base came in great shape...no shipping damage....even arrived one day ahead of schedule! Excellent experience for me!

Love the rvb-3500 converion kit that brought my B&W Companion hitch from 18, 000 to 20, 000 towing capacity. Etrailer did great on getting my product to me quickly and at a great price!

This is great. I upgraded my Companion to the newer version for added towing capacity and the extra height helped too. The B&W system is awesome. I pull a 38 ft Toyhauler and this sytem works great. Cathy in customer service took my order on a Monday and I received it on Wednesday in California! She was a treat to work with. I called regarding a component that didn't come with the kit. It wasn't supposed to, but they contacted B & W and they are sending me the part at no charge. Buy your stuff here, you'll be happy you did.
Base was ordered on Tuesday afternoon and was delivered at noon on Thursday. The assembly directions were clear and easy to follow. within an hour the base was assembled and in place As always another great product from B& W and fantastic service from etrailer.com. I thought shipping was going to be delayed because I had not received a tracking number as quick as I thought I should.
