What Gauge of Wires are Used on the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter Part # 3040-P
Question:
Im looking at installing the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Toyota and Lexus 3040-P with the Prodigy P2 brake controller. Talking with other Tundra owners, sounds like I’ll need additional wire to get to the location I want to install brake controller. 1 Is there a way to get a longer adapter? 2 If not, what gauge wire is the adaptor made from? I want to order some of your heat shrink butt connectors but unsure which size I need. Thanks!

We do not offer a longer version of the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3040-P which is 32" long. The black 12 volt power wire and blue brake output wire are both 12 gauge so part # DW05745-5 is correct for these and the red stop light switch wire and white ground wire are both 16 gauge so part # DW05744-5 is correct for these.
