Question:
I was looking at the Gorilla Lift for lifting trailer tailgates, while reading reviews It seams that some have had the cables fray and snap. Can you tell me what diameter steel cable is used and is the cable plastic coated or exposed steel? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
I went and pulled a Gorilla Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist # GL1 from our warehouse to measure the diameter of the cable and found that it has a .15 of an inch diameter and is not coated.
We haven't had any issues from our customers with the cable failing, but we do offer a replacement cable # GSCC-400 if that were to occur.
