Question:
Help! So I am going on my first winter vacation in hopes to see snow. We live in Florida and we will be traveling to West Virginia. We will be driving a 2010 Ford Expedition with 4x4. I am unsure if tire chains are needed and if they are, which chains are street legal in all the states I may go through to get to and from my destination. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Tire chains are designed to fit certain size tires. I can make some recommendations for tires that are typically found on a 2010 Ford Expedition. These tire sizes are 255/70-18, and 265/70-17. I will make some recommendations based on those sizes. If the tires you have on your Expedition are a different size you can let me know and I will be happy to make a recommendation based on that size.
If your tires are either of those sizes I recommend the Titan Chain Tire Chains, part # TC2326. These chains use a drape-on installation instead of the drive-on. This uses rubber tensioners instead of the separate adjuster. This makes it much easier to put on and take off the vehicle. These are made of manganese nickel alloy and have a diamond pattern which provides excellent traction in snow and on ice. These chains come with a handy storage case. I have attached a product review video for these chains you can check out. The maximum speed when using these tire chains is 30 mph.
If you have a larger tire size like a 275/55-R20, the tire chains I recommend are the Titan Chain Diamond HD Alloy Snow Tire Chains, part # TC2533. These are installed like the # TC2326 chains but sized for the larger tires. I have attached a product review video for these chains as well you can take a look at.
You may also want to check the state laws in the state or states you are planning on visiting to see if they have any particular laws concerning tire chains.
