Question:
I have a Curt 56196 2 wire to 3 wire converter wired between my motorhome and my 2002 PT cruiser. The brakes and taillights work but when I turn on either of the signal lights, both lights come on and blink on the car. Any suggestions?

The potential issues with your 2002 PT Cruiser signal lights continuously blinking could be a ground problem or bad converter.
First, I would double check all of your electrical connections to ensure secure connections. Secondly, test the wires going into your converter box and wires coming out for the correct signals. A circuit tester # PTW2993 will be beneficial when checking your wiring ground. See picture to the right.
Input:
Right turn and stop = green wire
Ground = white wire
Left turn and stop = yellow wire
Output:
Right turn only = green wire
Stop = red wire
Left turn only = yellow wire
Please note that your running light circuit does not run through this converter.
And thirdly, check the ground points on each of the lights and on the motor-home. The lights usually ground through the mounting studs. If there is any dirt, corrosion, or rust it could cause a bad connection. You will also want to check where the light bracket mounts to the motor-home.
I have included a instruction link on testing ground for you as well.
