Can I Use the Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller in my 2011 Ford Expedition

Yes, the Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller, # C74VV, will work on your 2011 Ford Expedition.

In addition to the controller, you will need the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter, # C51322. This plug-in wiring adapter allows for quick and easy installation. As long as your Expedition is equipped with a factory 7-way, just mount the brake controller up under the dash, plug one end of the harness into the controller and the other end into the port up under the dash, and you are ready to go.

If your Expedition is only equipped with a 4-way, you will also need a 4-Pole to 7-Pole/4-Pole Adapter, # 37185, to give you the additional wiring needed for a brake controller. For installation, follow the 4-way trailer connector wires from the trailer connector to the front of the vehicle. These wires connect to a factory plug along the frame rail, usually on the driver's side, between the back tires and the rear bumper. The factory plug should be mated to another connector which has wiring that continues back toward the bumper. There are more wires coming from the front of the vehicle than there are coming out toward the 4-Way plug. Ford wires the front of the vehicle as if it will be manufactured with a 7-Way plug, so all the 7-Way wires are run to this connector on the frame rail. This allows a 7-Way wiring harness to simply plug in line with the wiring coming from the front of the vehicle and this is where you will connect the wires on the 4-Pole to 7-Pole/4-Pole Adapter.
