Where Does Replacement Spring 30776 Go on a Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
Published 08/01/2014 >
Question:
I purchased this spring from you and do not know how to install it. My 5th wheel appears to have to springs. One is attached, but I cannot figure out where the other spring goes. Can you help me with installation? I found the broken spring rolling around in the back of my truck.

You will need to remove the head of the 5th wheel hitch from the legs and turn it over. Basically, you need access to the inner workings. After that it is just a matter of knowing where the springs go. The picture I have included should help. There are 2 springs. One goes from the far end of the handle, across the jaw area and attaches to the end of a shackle attached to the driver side jaw.
The other one attaches to a ridge on the handle and to a point at the front of the hitch near the cone.
