The two springs on a Reese 16K 5th wheel trailer hitch require access to the inner workings of the hitch. One spring is associated with the handle and one end goes to the handle and the other end hooks onto a point near the front of the hitch head. The other spring is for the jaws. One end attaches to a point near the concealed end of the handle and the other end goes across the hitch and attaches to a point on the other side of the hitch. I have included a picture that should help. For the actual spring use # 30776.
