B&W Tow & Stow for 2027 GMC Sierra 2500 With MultiPro Tailgate

Published 10/22/2026

Question:

I have a 2027 GMC Sierra 2500 with the MultiPro tailgate and factory 2-1/2" receiver. I pull an equipment trailer with a 2-5/16" coupler and a smaller utility trailer with a 2" coupler. I'm looking for an adjustable hitch that works with both trailers but won't interfere with the fold-down tailgate step. Which B&W Tow & Stow should I get?

Hey Greg, congratulations on the new truck! I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS20066BMP for your 2027 GMC Sierra 2500. This fits directly into your 2-1/2" receiver and is specifically designed to clear the MultiPro tailgate when the ball platform is folded underneath the hitch.

It includes a 2" ball rated for 7,500 lbs, and a 2-5/16" ball rated for 18,000 lbs, so you can switch between your trailers without changing ball mounts. This has a 7" drop with adjustments in 1-3/8" increments, making it easy to get both trailers level.

I also recommend the B&W Pin Surround Lock # BW82AR to secure the ball platform and adjustment pins. Pair it with the InfiniteRule Hitch Lock # 34061072-D to keep the entire Tow & Stow secured to your truck when you aren't towing.

What kind of equipment are you hauling?

Thanks Robin! I mostly haul a compact tractor on my equipment trailer, but I also have a smaller utility trailer. So I can leave the ball mount in the receiver and just adjust the height when switching trailers?

@Greg yes, you can leave the Tow & Stow # BWTS20066BMP installed and adjust the ball platform up or down to match each trailer. Just make sure both trailers are level when hooked up and reinstall the adjustment pins before towing. That's one of the biggest advantages of an adjustable ball mount when you're regularly switching trailers.
