Hitch and E-Bike Rack With Loading Ramp for a 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid

Updated 10/21/2026 | Published 10/16/2026

Question:

We have a 2027 Kia Telluride without a hitch and want to carry two step-through electric bikes. They weigh about 60 lbs each with the batteries removed and have fenders. What hitch and rack would you recommend? A ramp would be helpful since we don't want to lift them onto the rack.

Hey Karen! I'd pair the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C948RD with the Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack # HLY66ZR. The Curt is confirmed to fit your 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid, and gives you a 2" receiver with a 500 lb max tongue weight to handle the bikes and bike rack. The Destination has a 70 lb capacity per bike, so it can handle the weight of your two e-bikes without removing the batteries.

The included loading ramp lets you roll your bikes onto the rack, and the adjustable frame clamps work well with step-through designs since you can grab it by the frame or the seat post. The clamps have locks that match the locking hitch pin to keep everything secure. It also tilts with the bikes loaded for rear access.

What e-bikes do you have?

We have two Aventon Pace step-through e-bikes. The ramp is a big selling point for us since we don't want to lift them, and being able to open the back of the Telluride without removing the bikes will be nice too.

@Karen the Destination E sounds like a great fit for how you'll be using it! The ramp and tilting feature will make loading your bikes and getting into the back of your Telluride a lot more convenient. Enjoy your rides!

@Karen. Best rack I've had and I've had numerous over the last 40 years. Took a few times to get the hang of it mostly because it is so versatile. Great ramp. I've carried 2 e-bikes heavier than yours thousands of miles. One of the great features is when sliding it into the hitch, it has a stopper that aligns the hole in the receiver with the rack perfectly every time. It also tightens better inside the receiver so that it doesn't bounce at all. Super tight fit.

@Steve thanks for sharing your experience! Glad to hear the Destination E has worked so well for you over thousands of miles. The hitch alignment stopper and anti-rattle system are definitely nice features, especially when you're regularly removing and reinstalling the rack.

I have had the destination e rack from Hollywood racks for about 8 months now and have traveled twice with roughly 65 lb e-bikes on it, and it has worked great. My only word of warning would be to make sure that you also get a couple of rain covers for the handlebar area and some type of cover for the battery compartment. On one of our travels we knew we were going to end up getting rained on while we were driving, so we thought it would be a good idea to buy a bike cover that would cover both bikes on the rack while we were traveling. That did not work out well as it acted like a big sail and it put a lot of extreme stress on the bikes and the rack and the receiver while you're traveling at 75 miles an hour down the freeway. Luckily, it didn't do any damage, but we found out from the manufacturer that they specifically do not allow you to put a bike cover on the bikes while on the rack or it could void your warranty. The only ssue I've had with it was that there is a pin that comes with the rack that goes into a hole to lock it in either the raised position or the down position. That pin is attached to the rack with a thin wire cable and a screw. I lost that pin within 2 weeks of having the rack. It came off of its little thin wire cable. However, I was able to go to a hardware store and get a replacement pin of roughly a close size and have been using that ever since.

@TravisH that's a really helpful tip about the bike cover! Glad nothing was damaged, and it's good to know Hollywood Racks specifically warns against using a full cover while traveling. The handlebar and battery compartment covers sound like a much better solution. Thanks for the heads-up!

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes. It is an awesome system perfect for exactly what you want and it’s exactly what I have on my Telluride. I did have the factory hitch, but you can put any hitch with a standard receiver on and it’ll be perfect!

@HarryL glad to hear the Destination E has worked so well on your Telluride! It's especially helpful for Karen to hear from someone using the same rack and vehicle combination. Appreciate you chiming in!

I second the positive comments about the Hollywood rack. Just want to make sure you understand why you want a 500 lb tongue rating for 120 lbs of rack. In a word: bumps! The bikes only weigh 120 lbs when your car is standing still. One good bump puts you way over that number. We've had great luck with Curt 2" racks for some heavy, long-lever loads. Greatly relieves the stress of riding a rough pavement to get to a great rail trail, for example :)

@ShirlyA that's a good point about the additional forces from bumps and rough roads. Having plenty of capacity with the Curt hitch is definitely a plus, especially when carrying two heavy e-bikes. Glad to hear the Hollywood rack has worked well for you too!
