Does The Coleman-Mach WiFi Thermostat CM46MR Have An Internal Temperature Sensor?

Published 10/14/2026

Question:

Does this unit have the sensor inside of the thermostat? Or does it hook up to a sensor that is in the air duct or do you locate a sensor somewhere in the unit.

Welcome back, Stewart!

The Coleman-Mach WiFi Thermostat for RV Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps - Single Zone - Black # CM46MR does have the main temperature and humidity sensor housed inside the thermostat unit mounted on your RV wall. It also features a built-in proximity sensor on the front screen that automatically dims or brightens the display when you approach, which is pretty cool. It should also be noted that this does not use or support a wired or wireless external/remote room sensor. It measures ambient temperature and humidity strictly from the location where the wall unit is installed.

I saw you also asked about the Single Zone Digital Thermostat for Coleman-Mach RV Air Conditioners - Black # CM76RR. This also has an internal temperature sensor built in and can be used as the primary room temperature sensor. However, you can also connect an external remote temperature sensor if you prefer to measure the temperature from a different location in your RV/camper (we currently don't have any remote sensors though).

On that note, what are you looking at installing one of these in?
