Published 09/30/2026

Question:

I have a 1986 Shasta MB210 Revere travel trailer. Need correct brake kits. Very little information to go off of. Dual axel. Tag is too worn. Assuming should have 3500 axels. Five lug wheels. Should also be a 10”x2.25” set up. Electric brakes. Need options. Thanks.

Hey Charles!

Based on your measurements, you're going to want our etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA to replace the electric brakes on our your 1986 Shasta MB210 Revere travel trailer. This kit includes both the left and right electric brake, and the mounting plates have a 4-bolt and 4" diagonal or 2-7/8" center-to-center bolt pattern as shown in the photo below. This is the standard size for mounting plates, but due to the age of the trailer and the unsurety of the axle, you will still want to measure to confirm.

While you're measuring, you'll also need to check your hub's bolt pattern. Using the graphic below as a reference, hopefully you come up with the 5-on-4-1/2" pattern. That's the common size on trailers and axles from at least the last 20-25 years, but there are also the much less common 5-on-4-3/4" and 5-on-5" bolt patterns. If you came up with the 5-on-4-1/2" pattern, the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K is the best option for you. It includes the lug nuts, bearings, races, seals, and an easy-lube grease cap to allow for easy maintenance on your spindles moving forward. If you came up with a different bolt pattern, let me know which one you have and I'll see what options we have for you!

That will give you a full replacement electric brake assembly for your Shasta trailer. Both of the kits will include the mounting hardware and assembly accessories you need, so the only additional part you may need is a tube of Dexter Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease # DX64TR.

What do you usually use to tow your trailer and how often are you taking it out?
