Looking For Hitch Reducer/Extension For 2-1/2" Hitch

Question:

i need a 2 1/2 male hitch that reduces to a 2 female hitch. they both have to have their own pin holes

Hey Juan, thanks for reaching out. Yes, we have just the thing. Take a look at the following:

- Trailer Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2" to 2" Trailer Hitch - 7" Long # e53YR

This is a 7" long extension. It fits a 2-1/2" hitch and reduces it down to a 2" on the other side. Each end has its own hitch pin hole. The extension is rated for 3,500 lbs.

What will you be using the extension for?

Hey Jessie I just wanted to verify so the male side goes into my two and a half inch Ford 250 the receiver I guess you would call it and the female for the bike rack is 2 in is this correct?

@JuanP That's right. The 2-1/2" male side goes into the hitch on your Ford. Then the other end has a 2" receiver for your bike rack.

I have this exact extender reducer. We did 2 mods: 1) add one more set of holes on the truck side so it can be shoved in another 1.5" (2 options), and 2) added a spring and nut on the inside of the truck side hole, so a bolt can be used as a pin hitch. Why? Because even though your bike rack may come with a rattle preventing mechanism, the truck side of the sleeve wont. On my Ram, one of those rattle clamps won't fit (there isn't enough lip on the receiver) and that's why we used a bolt. Anyway, the extender reducer is very sturdy and good.
