Question:

I got a 2026 Subaru crosstrek it has an electrical connector on the hitch for a 4 pin adaptor and my bicycle carrier has a 7 blade connector it has reverse lights i understand that the adapter won’t work the reverse lights I am good with that I just need a adapter to use the brake /turn/parking light . It just a receiver style carrier . Do they make a adaptor to plug and play that don’t have the extra wires for brakes or reverse

They sure do Michael! For an adapter that will allow you to convert your Crosstrek's 4-way into a 7-way, I recommend the TowSmart item # TS56QR. This adapter simply plugs into your 4-way connector and does not have the additional brake, reverse, and accessory lighting. It will work perfectly for your situation with only needing the brake, turn, and parking lights to work on your bike rack.

I also recommend the RV Designer Socket Mounting Bracket item # RD86SR and the Curt No-Drill Bracket item # C57202. This brackets will allow you to attach the TowSmart item # TS56QR to your Subaru's hitch without having to drill. The No-Drill Bracket item # C57202 uses a band clamp that you'll wrap around the crossbar of the hitch. This will mount your new 7-way in a convenient to access and safe location.
